In this course, we go through how to finish embroideries that need to be mounted, whether anything should go on the back and, if so, what. How to make fabric frames that look professional, and which fabrics are best suited for it. How to sew zippers into pillowcases and pouches, and how to secure the seam allowances well and as invisibly as possible.
I also cover various Vlieseline products and other alternatives. As well as how to mount the embroidery in an opening in a box, and on a lid without an opening.
If your advent calendar or other embroidery needs a backing, I also share my solution for how it can be done.
After reviewing various finishing methods, we will start on the projects you participants have brought. I can’t promise they will be finished, but at the very least you’ll be equipped to complete them at home.
I have a well-equipped sewing studio with most thread colors, machines, and Vlieseline products.
Bring a couple of your finishing projects, the fabric you need, any zippers, boxes, hardware, etc., and we’ll take a look at it. (Also remember a small packed lunch, as we’ll have a 20-minute lunch break)
